Elon Musk & Cryptocurrencies: Is Bitcoin His Next Investment?

Bitcoin is becoming interesting for more and more investors, including super-rich ones. A few days ago, Elon Musk and Michael Saylor exchanged ideas about Bitcoin investments. Let’s figure this out!

In the crypto community, Elon Musk has long been known for one thing and that is the mysterious tweeting about cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin and Dogecoin. Nowadays, everyone talks about Elon Musk and his relationship to cryptocurrencies. A few days ago, there was another series of tweets from Elon Musk, in which he called Bitcoin his ‘Safe Word’ and posted a meme:

However, things got more interesting due to a tweet that Elon Musk dedicated to his personal crypto favorite, namely Dogecoin. In the crypto community, he has been referred to as the ‘CEO of DOGE’ as Elon actually posted this once in his Twitter bio.

This is obviously a joke, but many questions still remain. If you currently to through the Tesla CEO’s Twitter profile, you will find the information ‘Former CEO of Dogecoin’ there. His recent tweet made the price of DOGE to increase by more than 30% within 24 hours.

Elon Musk: Bitcoin or DOGE Investor?

Elon Musk says he is neither invested in Bitcoin nor in DOGE. In 2019 he once stated in a tweet that he would only hold 0.25 Bitcoin, which he was given as a gift. It’s doubtful whether this situation has changed since then. In this context, things got even more interesting when Michael Saylor entered the discussion.

Saylor is the CEO of MicroStrategy, which has already invested over a billion US dollars in Bitcoin this year. In addition, the company had issued convertible bonds in order to raise the necessary capital. In one of his tweets, Michael Saylor now encouraged Elon Musk to do his shareholders a favor and convert assets from Tesla into Bitcoin.

Conclusion: Billionaires Are Interested in Bitcoin

Even if an intensive investment in Bitcoin from Elon Musk is currently rather unlikely, this Twitter discussion has clearly shown the interest in cryptocurrencies among very wealthy people. Michael Saylor with his company won’t be the first and last CEO to invest heavily in Bitcoin. A few years ago, conversations like this appeared as something impossible. But things are different now!

What do you guys think about this news? Is Elon Musk about to invest in Bitcoin or is it only a joke? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments. Have a nice Christmas!
